Blogger's Dilemma: Camera Woes

Hello all,

I am dying to share all kinds of clothing reviews with you, but I'm realizing more and more the importance of having a great camera! My camera (a Canon Powershot- which I THOUGHT was a good camera) cannot seem to capture indoor images without washing them out, or being too blurry. I've tinkered with the ISO quite a bit, and have tried every setting I can think of, but nothing works. So sad! I'm hoping to use my mother's extremely fancy artist's camera when I go home for Thanksgiving break. Please let me know if you have any tips for taking photos with a Powershot automatic :(

Here's hoping I'll have posts up soon!

My old point-and-shoot was a Canon Powershot SD600. I think indoor shots are possible but lighting becomes VERY important. Can you try standing near a window during the day or find a room with bright lighting? Beyond that, I'm afraid I won't be of much help. Good luck playing with your mom's camera!

Yes I have a regular camera....I edit some of the lighting on picnik but I usually have to take the indoor pictures by a window & sunlight. GOod luck!

Have fun with your mom's camera! As for indoor pictures, usually point and shoots aren't great because the hole in the lens (or aperture) is too small. You'd have to use a high ISO, but then your pictures get grainy. If you use a tripod, maybe you can increase the exposure time (like to 1 sec) and hold really still. That lets in more light. Good luck!
